Position Server Location C&P Drexel Hill Description **Position Summary**

Interact with Guests while following our service standards, take Guest orders and deliver food and beverages. This position ensures the quality of the food and that the overall Guest experience is excellent. Also responsible for bussing and cleaning their own tables as well as all billing and payment processing.

**Job Tasks**

* Greet Guests in a friendly professional manner

* Provide education about Chickie's style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods

* Ensure menu, food preparation and ingredient knowledge in order to address Guest's food allergy concerns and questions

* Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times

* Perform light food preparation duties when needed

* Follow all Chickie's & Pete's service standards including up-selling and suggestive selling

* Inform Guests of daily specials

* Check food and beverages for quality and presentation, following Menu Builds, before serving

* Serve food and beverages to Guests

* Check identification to ensure that Guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages

* Recognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively; keep manager informed when situations arise regarding intoxicated Guests/refusal of service

* Provide food and drink recommendations to Guests

* Receive Guest payments and process transactions

* Sincerely thank all Guests, make them aware of upcoming specials or events and invite them back for another visit soon

* Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards

* Ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stocked

* Respond appropriately to Guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager

* Perform marketing and other promotional services as needed

* Complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties

* Understand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasks

* Attend all scheduled employee meetings

* Additional tasks as assigned

Position Requirements **Main Responsibilities, Required Skills and Knowledge**

**Guest Service**

**M**ust **consistently be able to** assess, anticipate and meet **Guests needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests overall dining experience.**

**Communication**

**Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.**

**Interpersonal Relationships**

Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.

Teamwork: Working together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.

**Sales Techniques and Guest Influence**

**Must** understand all Chickies & Petes products and services as well as have the ability to understand Guests needs clearly. Must gain **experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods.**

**Performing General Physical Activities**

Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

**Problem Solving and Conflict Management**

Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.

**Analytical Skills**

General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge. **Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome to problems.**

**Quality Control and Priority Assessment**

Must e**valuate current practices and processes;** immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, **quality of products and services provided to the Guests**.

**Language Skills**

**Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.**

**Flexibility**

Occasionally works overtime and assists with the workload of others if needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
