We are seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer with the P. E. license in the state of VA to join one of our clients that specializes in Industrial/Manufacturing turn-key solutions. This person will be responsible/should have the following:

- Extensive knowledge of structural steel, and concrete foundation design

- Ability, have, or on track to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in VA within 1 year

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)

- Commonly used programs include Risa 3-D, Risa Foundation, Risa Connection, Profis, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, and Revit

- Experience in both conceptual design and final engineering

- Experience checking drawings created by designers

- Participate in project meetings and act as structural team lead

- Enjoys working in, and sometimes leading, teams on large multi-discipline projects

- Thrives in a fast-paced, schedule-driven atmosphere

- Ability to make and meet commitments

- Ability to perform field work and observe construction (climbing stairs and ladders, extensive walking)

- Monitor budgets and schedules

- Mentor junior engineers

- Excellent people and communication skills (oral and written)

- Team player and ability to work on multiple projects

- Light travel -- mostly within the state of Virginia

- Project scoping and estimating

- Material take-offs and construction estimating

- Education Bachelor's degree in a Civil Engineering - accredited engineering program

- Professional Engineer (PE) license required

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural design and analysis, preferably within the industrial engineering field

- Experience working with regulatory authorities for building permits

- Experience working with masonry design, architectural codes, site civil design, and multidiscipline design

- Proficient in structural design software, such as Autodesk Revit, SAP2000, or STAAD. Pro

- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards

- Experience with steel, concrete, and timber structures

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on teamwork and client satisfaction
