Senior Accountant- CPA Firm

Small CPA firm is hiring a Senior Accountant to join their growing team and assist clients on the south shore with accounting services, tax services, and financial advising. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) implementations. Familiarity with accounting issues associated with governmental agencies and non-profit organizations is preferred for success in this role.

Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements for clients in compliance with GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports. Assist in annual audit engagements by providing necessary documentation, reconciliations, and schedules. Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and assisting in the preparation of financial projections. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within clients' accounting departments. Communicate effectively with clients to address accounting inquiries, provide financial insights, and deliver exceptional client service

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred CPA certification preferred, or actively pursuing CPA licensure. Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
