The Marketing and Development Manager (MDM) should be fully versed in the HomeAid program and history. The MDM should have a strong passion for the HomeAid mission, be able to communicate that passion in support of the vision and objectives outlined by the HomeAid Atlanta Board of Directors and the Executive Director (ED). The MDM is essential to all areas of HomeAid Atlanta marketing and communication, fundraising events and campaigns, and community engagement events.

The MDM reports to the Executive Director and works in partnership with the other HomeAid staff and related task force groups to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing & Communications—30%

Create and manage HomeAid Atlanta website content and social media content

Create and manage HomeAid Atlanta marketing and communications collateral materials including newsletters, articles, reports, ads, etc.

Assist in coordinating HomeAid Atlanta interface with media organizations and individuals through the development and distribution of press releases.

Provide strategic recommendations and other assistance with marketing and public relations efforts.

Identify opportunities and help build strategy for the organization’s outreach and public relations efforts. Identify opportunities and develop strategies for engaging new communities and businesses in the cause of ending homelessness. Maintain brand and communication guidelines as determined by HomeAid America Participate in HomeAid America communications meetings

Fund Development—30%

Create and manage fundraising campaigns and financial donations

Maintain accurate donation records (cash and in-kind) and acknowledgements.

Coordinate fundraising events

Create fundraising campaign materials and signage

Research, develop, and submit written proposals, in collaboration with the Executive Director and, in some cases, a grant writer, to local, regional, and national corporate and private foundations

Events—30%

Coordinate fundraising events including annual golf tournament and spring fundraising event Assist in coordinating groundbreaking and dedication events related to Shelter Development Assist with third party fundraising events Engage the community in outreach activities that directly benefit HomeAid’s community partners and the homeless they serve through HomeAid Essentials, HomeAid CareKits, Homeless Awareness Month, and other community outreach programs. Solicit, manage, and distribute all donations for CareKits and Essentials. Organize, manage, and direct volunteers and/or other staff during community outreach activity events.

Maintain and grow relationships with strategic partners through outreach activities and updates that result in continuation of partners’ engagement in the organization’s mission to end homelessness.

Other Duties—10%

Assist with HomeAid Care Days and general mission-oriented tasks as required.

Provide strategic guidance and input to the members of related task force groups, when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED

College degree required.

Must be people-oriented, with ability to work with media, volunteers, and the community.

Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Creative and imaginative, with strong graphics skills.

Demonstrated successful experience in coordinating and managing events

Demonstrated ability in managing volunteers/committees.

Knowledgeable in Salesforce

Knowledgeable in Squarespace or WordPress

Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher.

Should have general knowledge of the housing industry and nonprofit community.

Strong digital marketing skills.

Willingness to perform occasional public speaking.

Willingness to perform work during evenings or weekends as needed on occasion.
