Job Description Comply with all company and departmental policies and guidelines. Use safe work practices, being able to identify any safety concerns. Plans machining of tooling and fixtures using work orders, blueprints, engineering plans and specifications. Develops specifications from "GDT" stand point and draw sketch of part to be fabricated. Modify tooling and fixtures using work orders, blueprints, sketches and engineering plans able to make a call on how and can it be done. Sets up and operates manual and CNC machines, to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts. Able to run/set up grinding equipment. Basic understand of metrology. Sets up mill and lathe by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, stops, indicating devices/work, adaptive work hold situation. Applies knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of "materials" and layout techniques, understanding tooling and proper speeds and feeds. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments/equipment. Maintain stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available, anticipating needed stock, communicate when stock is low or need ordering. Prioritize work orders and schedule work to be completed. Make changes to schedule as needed with parts that need turn around, due to production equipment issues. Maintains tool room equipment by completing preventative maintenance/mechanical repairs. Communicate effectively with team/engineering. Maintain housekeeping and organization of tool room with good shop etiquette. Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager. Can interpret and write CNC G-code both in CNC milling and CNC lathe. Able to use CAM and Cad software (cam software is mastercam, cad is crio).
