The Telecommunications Engineer, under the supervision of the Manager and within the established hospital and department policies and procedures, performs a variety of hospital communications system duties. Will be responsible for system management, engineering, design, administration and maintenance of digital voice platform, VoIP communications systems, ensuring consistent, reliable, and uninterrupted service. Analyzes existing networks and equipment and identifies opportunities for improvement. Develops solutions that meet hospital requirements. Participate in support strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of all enterprise voice platforms which include, but are not limited to, telephony systems and applications, voice related data, messaging, and all associated PBX, LAN, and WAN network connectivity. Participate in a 24X7 on-call support if applicable to respond to system alarms, perform troubleshooting and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate vendor support teams. Participate in support strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of all enterprise voice platforms which include, but are not limited to, telephony systems and applications, voice related data, messaging, and all associated PBX, LAN, and WAN network connectivity.

Participate in a 24X7 on-call support if applicable to respond to system alarms, perform troubleshooting and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate vendor support teams. Bachelor's degree a plus High school diploma required. 3+ years' experience with VoIP. Strong understanding of networking protocols, VoIP, wireless technologies, and telecommunication standards. Provision traditional analog services. Call Center Applications. Experience with NEC PBX, NEC voicemail platform a plus. Experience with SIP VoIP systems. Experience with troubleshooting VoIP/SIP issues independently and with vendor support. Some skills working with application data through spreadsheets, databases, and import/export tools for populating data or generating adhoc reports. Familiarity with virtual machine environments Experience with CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) 5-7 years with the design and configuration of voice and data communications. Trouble shoot wired and wireless telephony equipment and troubleshooting networking equipment. Experience working within a change management system to communicate and coordinate changes with others that may impact successful outcomes when performing upgrades or other changes. Work requires moderate physical exertion including standing, crawling, and regular lifting of objects over 40 pounds. Participates in the system selection process, including needs assessment, RFP, and vendor selection. Integrating telecommunications services with could platforms for scalability and flexibility Knowledge of cloud enabled technologies a plus. Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies, and spare parts. Coordinate, review, and perform all add, move or changes of all Telephony equipment entered in Service Desk Plus
