We're looking for a Director of Accounting to join our ever-evolving Finance team to support a newly established team within Finance. The role will be responsible for building out in depth analysis, assessing financial performance, and establishing a robust framework to communicate our growth to investors and lenders.

What you'll own

The Director of Accounting will be a key leadership position within the Worldpay global Corporate Accounting organization. The position will initially be involved in the following: Stand up a global corporate accounting team including:

  • Design and define requirements for Oracle implementation including being part of the project team through go live
  • Build and lead team through the transition of activities from one team to newly created team.
  • Define processes to provide best in class customer service for both our internal and external customers.
  • Own close process related to Opex and provide month end analytics and commentary.
  • Own balance sheet and ensure reconciliations are approved within Policy and that it accurately states assets and liabilities. Develop department strategy and objectiv
  • es aligned with company objectives to being customer centric and how to achieve exceptional customer service to internal and external customer
  • Manage the day-to-day operations for the Corporate Accounting team Continuous operational improvements in the close cycle and identify areas where we may accelerate the close process.
  • Lead team to be forward thinking and anticipate where there may be issues and develop a plan to mitigate these issues.
  • Cultivate a strong collaborative relationship with FP&A and the business, working together to identify accruals and provide insights to FP&A for their monthly forecast process
  • Engage with external and internal auditors to ensure processes, policies and controls are being followed on a consistent basis.
  • Set a tone of professional integrity and ensure that all accounting entries are accurate and conform with GAAP.
  • Participate in and lead Finance and Financial Operations led initiatives.
  • Provide monthly KPI reporting on how the department is performing and identify ways to improve.

What you bring
  • 12 + years of experience in leading Accounting and Finance teams.
  • Experience with leading an accounting team including managing the close cycle and reviewing and approving complex journal entries
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably Oracle.
  • Skilled in analytical and statistical research and providing analysis and commentary on monthly analytic files
  • Ability to report out month end results including trends and providing commentary on variances
  • A strong knowledge with the accounting close cycle and the ability to lead team to meet close timelines and deliverables.
  • Internal/external audit experience.
  • CPA ( Preferred)
