Position Overview Line cooks form the core of the kitchen. Responsibilities include providing mise?en?place for service, cooking food to order, and maintaining a clean, organized station from start to finish. Qualifications You Should Be: Bright; animated; lively; cheerful; vivid or brilliant Spirited: having or showing mettle, courage, vigor, liveliness, etc. Reliable: dependable in achievement, accuracy, honesty, etc. Job Responsibilities & Characteristics of Success Strong commitment to excellence: Always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Positive outlook and demeanor; negativity and malice will not be tolerated. A desire to learn and grow in a fast?changing environment. Sense of urgency. Ability to demonstrate classic cooking techniques. Ability to prepare ingredients and set up station mise?en?place for service. Ability to work in a brigade style line, firing, and communicating across stations during service. Ability to keep your station clean and organized before, during, and after service. Working knowledge of sanitation codes and regulations. More than 1 year cooking experience in a fine?dining kitchen is a plus, but not required. Stay humble. Knowledge of whos who at the KHG Restaurants. Job Duties Clock in for your shift after changing into your uniform. Be on duty and in uniform at the scheduled time. Gather all required mise?en?place from the prep kitchen. Check the requisition list day to day. Oversee cooking of your mise?en?place and set up station for service. Properly cook all dishes to order as delegated and to the KHG standard. Participate in cooking family meals as required. Communicate consistently with other stations. Maintain station cleanliness.
