About the Position: This is a developmental position with promotion potential to the GS-13 grade level. Management intends to hire at the GS-12 level only. Responsibilities Uses financial theories, practices, policies, and procedures to identify, research, and resolve difficult financial problems. Provides expert financial advice and recommendations to Command commodity teams and managers regarding customer programs covering the full spectrum of financial policies and program/system requirements. Analyzes, interprets, and extracts financial data from various financial systems. Examines and reconciles customer financial reports, resolving problems and implementing policies and requirements. Prepares and consolidates special financial reports, briefs, and documents such as information papers, regulations, and standard operating procedures. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Utilization of financial system to extract data required to evaluate financial operations, policies, and procedures. 2. Analysis of changes in program plans and funding and the effect on financial and budget program goals. 3. Reviewing data for the purpose of identifying deficiencies or gaps. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Analysis Financial Management Financial Management Systems Financial Reporting Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11) within 30 days of the closing date of the vacancy announcement. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
