A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHATRONICS APPRENTICE
As a Mechatronics Apprentice with our sustainable technology company, you undergo a three-year dual training program that combines structured on-the-job training and related technical instruction. You contribute to our organization's success by visiting our industry customers to install, inspect, start up, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment. You also build, test, modify, and maintain industrial control systems as well as read technical diagrams and schematics.
Additionally, you install, test, modify, and maintain electrical assemblies. You help transport and assemble our machinery and systems. Our apprenticeship program also teaches you how to use manual and CNC metalworking machinery. For both hardware and software components, you learn how to install and configure programs. You also wire up motors and drives as well as participate in any other assignment that comes your way. Upon completion of the program, you receive your Journeymaker Card, preparing you for many different employment opportunities in automation or mechanical engineering
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MECHATRONICS APPRENTICE
- High school diploma or equivalent by the start of the program
- At least 18 years old
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable scores on technical college placement tests
