As our Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will: Assist in planning and implementation of EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Environmental Protection agency (EPA) and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Report injury and illness data to OSHA and the Bureau of Labor statistics. Manage the workers' compensation process and return-to-work program including claims reporting and liaison between the company and insurance carriers. Lead the corporate EHS portion of new hire orientation. Conduct safety compliance training and assist with scheduling safety training activities. Create and maintain all federal, state and local EHS reporting. Monitor and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions, including but not limited to Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), incident investigations, Management of Change (MOC). Assist with completion of DNR environmental reporting requirements. Develop and track “leading” EHS metrics to help identify actionable EHS targets and mitigation strategies. Assist with processes and training to ensure all contractors and suppliers comply with federal, state and local regulations while on Didion property. Assist in Spill Prevention and Control processes, including detection, reporting, and cleanup, as well as manifesting regulated waste. Maintain appropriate spill response resources. Assist in Stormwater Pollution Prevention including routine inspections and management processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred and/or equivalent experience. 1-3 years related experience and/or training working with occupational safety and health. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. PSM and/or DHA experience preferred. Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, EPA and other industry related regulations required. Able to support 24/7 manufacturing operations, including occasional weekend and off-shift hours.
