Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting administrative and strategic functions of the human resources department. Individual will work with the Human Resources Director, Human Resources Managers, lines of business managers and other team members to maximize the efficiency of the department in support of the organizational goals and standards. This position will serve as the administrative support the following programs and processes: Clickboarding, Orientation, LOA processes as well as serving as the HR support for the Concrete HR team. Position under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources will support various HR functions for block manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Act as a backup for recruiting team, providing support for the full cycle hiring processes as needed. This would include the following: Clickboarding, processing candidates, scheduling pre-hire requirements and (MVR/FRA/Clearinghouse, ADP etc)
  • Assist HR Coordinator with follow up and tracking of I9 documentation and files for the Concrete and Gunite teams.
  • Partner with Work Loss and operations to manage the random DOT and Non-DOT quarterly drug screens, and post-accident screens providing needed follow ups and notifications.
  • Provide back up support for HR Coordinator for the Concrete teams regarding STD, FMLA, LTD and ADA claims and processes. Partnering with HR Coordinator this position will assist with tracking, notifications, and the creation of clarification letters.
  • Partner with managers and recruiters for onboarding support functions such as establishing new email accounts, equipment needs, program access and general support.
  • Assist recruiters with orientation and onboarding processes and career events as needed.
  • Partner with Safety and HR Director on various overlapping functions such as updating physical job requirements, uploading orientation safety training, and other HR/safety initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for managing and updating all job descriptions, organizational charts for the concrete, quality control and gunite teams.
  • Provide HR support for benefit enrollment including assisting employees, troubleshooting, scanning documents and creating tracking reports.
  • Responsible for ensuring the facility compliance boards are current and up to date per legal guidelines.
  • Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director assist in the development of various HR initiatives, policies, memos, presentations and/or projects
  • Create and maintain various HR electronic databases, reports, metric tracking and spreadsheets as needed within the department, utilizing Excel, Tableau, Go Canvas, Viewpoint and Success Factors.
  • Assist Human Resources team with the creation and delivery of required training, including preparation, review, rollout of new programs and distribution. Must be proficient using Power Point and Microsoft Publisher.
  • Be the functional expert for the concrete teams creating spreadsheets and reporting using Tableau, Excel and Access. Must be able to utilize all computer programs efficiently and accurately.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources this position will assist with HR support for block manufacturing teams.
  • Provide the concrete teams general HR support providing responses for address changes, pulling personnel information, employment verifications, responding to daily employee request/questions etc.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR related field or 5 years comparable experience preferred
  • Human Resources professional certifications preferred.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 2-3 years related experience in an office/HR setting, performing administrative tasks.
  • Experience in a construction environment preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Work Requirements
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau/
  • Must be able to create effective spreadsheets using pivot tables, V Look ups and formulas within Excel.
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must be able to work with confidential information and maintain discretion
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and flexible with changes
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and operate a vehicle safely.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Including some nights or weekends on rare occasions

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • May occasionally lift move/carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally use exertion forces of pushing/pulling of up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects for extended periods of time.
  • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Standard office environment.
  • Tempo is fast-paced with deadlines.
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be moderate.
