WE are looking for a Full time, onsite Senior Financial Accountant to join our team here in Kalispell, MT
JOB SUMMARY: Senior Accountant shall assist Controller in all areas to support and ensure a timely and reliable month end close process. Senior Accountant shall assist Controller in the areas of loan accounting review, cash management, banking and warehouse relations, and customer service. Senior Accountant shall support and backup all accounting processes performed by accounting staff as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Demonstrate keen awareness of all General Ledger accounts and items, what they represent and how they are used;
•Assist with maintaining proper balances in accounts, ensuring the integrity of all records;
•Understand and maximize application of all Company software as it relates to accounting functions and processes;
•Follow and train to standard on all Company and department policies and Best Practices to ensure completeness of accounting records;
•Monitor loan accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, understanding and completion;
•Assist Controller and support department with comprehensive implementation of new or changing accounting practices and procedures as necessary to support Company and department initiatives;
•Comprehensively and carefully review and approve Accounts Payable bill payments as submitted by Accounting Team;
•Process daily cash transfers to ensure proper balances exist in all Company checking accounts; Proactively monitor and report cash management concerns;
•Initiate Wires and ACH transfers as requested;
•Prepare timely deposits of checks received; Review Cash Receipts and Deposits as they are posted;
•Assist with tracking and collection of First Payments Receivable;
•Review and monitor all Trust deposits and related liabilities to ensure timely reconciliation of assets and liabilities;
•Manage warehouse transactions, ensuring timely responses to Operations Personnel and
Warehouse Representatives;
•Assist team to ensure timely receipt and recording of Investor Purchase Advices and timely pay down of Warehouse balances as applicable;
•Manage banking relationships and paperwork, ensuring continuity, dual controls and backup for all accounts and banking transactions and functions;
•Respond to loan related inquiries with accuracy and timeliness;
•Back up Post Close Representative - responding to questions regarding Post Close discrepancies for positive resolution;
•Assist Post Close Representative with post close escrow reviews and analysis, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved and funds are disbursed as required;
•Assist Purchase Clearing with post close warranty work loans to ensure best possible results are obtained;
•Assist Controller in researching and reviewing loan losses to be potentially submitted to arbitration or to Captive for reimbursement; Proactively ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of loan files;
•Ensure department success through coaching for clear understanding of task requirements and by supporting an environment that is conducive to teamwork, creativity & quality;
•Successfully complete and comply with the annual AML/Fraud training and other mandatory trainings that may be assigned.
•Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality and scheduling.
•Maintain a highly secure workspace area.
•Ensure controls and security exist over access to all Company accounts and other sensitive information.
•Shall demonstrate, at all times, cooperative behavior and positive interaction with supervisors and Company team members and departments, branch personnel and investors, ensuring all communications and interactions are done in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
•Supports Mann Mortgage Mission, Vision and Sales First culture.
•Demonstrate at all times commitment to the Company's Sales First Formula of 'Doing it Right the
First Time, Doing it Fast, and Showing you Care'.
•Consistently display a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions associated with
Mann Mortgage the Company and Mann Mortgage personnel.
•Perform other duties as required/assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to the discretion of Management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma or GED required.
•4+ years of accounting or finance related work experience.
•2+ years mortgage related experience
•BS in Accounting or Finance preferred, or additional related work experience
