Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Director of Donor Relations provides strategic leadership to strengthen relationships with donors. The position oversees and manages all aspects of donor stewardship programs designed to cultivate and engage annual, major, and planned giving prospects and donors, including the Board of Trustees. The position also leads processes to appropriately steward gifts, monitors fund utilization and donor intent, and reports to donors the status and impact of their funds, focusing on maintaining and strengthening engagement and philanthropic support from the college's highest-level donors. This is a 35-hour/week position. The hiring salary range is $73k to $75k. Specific Responsibilities: Plan, implement, and analyze the overall college donor relations plan. Collaborate with gift officers and the VPIA to develop donor stewardship plans. Ensure major gift donors are recognized appropriately. Lead the process to send timely gift acknowledgements. Ensure that all stewardship requirements from gift agreements are met. Manage a cross-divisional process to manage donor funds. Engage with academic chairs, deans, and others in stewarding donors. Provide timely responses to donor requests for information. Develop metrics and technology to monitor outcomes across endowment programming. Proactively interact with current students to engage them in stewarding donors. Collaborate with key College leaders to support student engagement in donor stewardship. Develop lists of naming opportunities for projects. Work with marketing and communications to design donor recognition materials. Prepare personalized stewardship materials for individual donors. Coordinate major donor touchpoints and evaluate changes in donor information. Manage the budget for the Office of Donor Relations. Oversee annual reports for donors. Maintain a portfolio of donors for stewardship. Manage presidential gift reporting and plan for high-level donor stewardship. Collaborate on planning of constituent engagement events. Communicate donor relations efforts to leadership through weekly reporting. Prepare documentation for donor stewardship events. Serve as a member of the Institutional Advancement Leadership Team. Supervisor of Record: Supervisor of record for the Donor Relations Coordinator. Plan, direct, and delegate work to Donor Relations Coordinator. Provide feedback on performance and approve timesheet of Donor Relations Coordinator. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred with a minimum of five years of experience in higher education related to development and donor stewardship. Two or more years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to define donor relations goals and objectives. Attention to detail and sound judgment. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal and writing skills. Must possess tact, diplomacy, and discretion. Excellent computer skills including database management experience. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required. Working knowledge of how Artificial Intelligence can be used in donor stewardship. Working Conditions: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Physical Abilities: Sitting for long periods of time. Some bending and stooping when working with files. Limited lifting involved but not more than 10 pounds at a time.
