As a member of our team, you will play an important role in our company's positive culture by helping us build and maintain an effective organization as the automotive industry moves toward an electric future.The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA - Cell component) Engineer is a part of the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) group and is responsible for managing all incoming materials related to components for cells, such as Cap-Ass'y, Can, Seal pin, etc. The Cell Component SQA Engineer must comply with supplier quality standards to meet all product and process requirements and manage and report supplier performance. The SQA engineer will be responsible for quality checks, Production Part Approval Process approval for new suppliers and on-going process audits for all suppliers. SQA engineer is also responsible for detection, containment, root causing and resolving all supplier related issues. The SQA engineer will manage the continuous performance improvement and optimization of all suppliers of components and services. Provide coaching and mentoring of the utilization of world-class problem-solving methodologies. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Roles and ResponsibilitiesEstablish Key Process Indicators (KPI) for SQA activities, and conduct on-going process monitoring for all KPIsLead QPA (Quality Process Audit) and Production Part Approval Process of new suppliers.Lead improvement of supplier's performanceDocument internal audits and other quality assurance activitiesInvestigate customer complaints and non-conformance issuesReview all supplier product specifications, inspection standards, and lesson learned activitiesPrepare updates of Supplier Quality performance and activitiesProvide management updates regularlyWork closely with key stakeholders to provide delivery according to scheduleManage multiple priorities and deliver internal and external results on timeWork closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements for Supplier Quality performanceMust be able to travel ~30% (includes International)Areas of Leadership and Technical abilitiesAction / Results oriented: Problem solving, attitude, deliver projects on time with high qualityStrong presentation skills to clearly articulate: business problems, analytical approaches, potential solutions recommendationsAbility to draw conclusions and make recommendations per team goalsAbility to anticipate "what if" scenariosHigh level of written and verbal communicationSelf-motivated: energetic, enjoys working at quick paceRequirementsBachelor's DegreeMinimum of 5 years of industrial automation and controls experience with strong foundation in supplier quality managementExcellent organizational, written, and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the organization including hourly employees to Senior LeadershipAbility to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externallyDemonstrated technical problem-solving abilityGoal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teamsAbility to coach / mentor / develop SQA Engineers and IQC InspectorsMust have a good working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to work overtime as requiredPreferred Job Requirements Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. (Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered with extensive quality experience)Bilingual English / KoreanMaster's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringExperience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturingShainin Red X / Six Sigma CertificationExperience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)Experience with quality certification and system such as ISO9001/IATF16949 is requiredFamiliar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementationExtensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applicationsGood working knowledge of Google Suite software programsASQ Certification in Quality and ReliabilityBenefit DetailsOur benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, PTO, 401K with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
