We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Code Enforcement Officer to join our team of professionals. Responsibilities Perform field inspections for rental housing program Read and examine plans and specifications when required Report violations and maintain files/records Perform other related duties as required Knowledge & Skills Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions Ability to work with all levels of management; strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish priorities, work independently in rapidly changing environment, and function as group leader. Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment Education & Experience TDLR Code Enforcement Officer II licensure required ICC International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) Certification a plus 1+ years of experience in security, enforcement, or compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts Experience in building, construction, or trades highly desired High School Diploma or equivalent required Valid Driver's License and good driving record required Compensation & Benefits SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a comprehensive benefit offering.
