GHC is seeking to fill the role of

Vice President of Human Resources & Compensation . This role not only leads an exceptional team of people asset managers and payroll professionals; they also have an integral role in setting the strategies of the company as a part of our Executive Team.

The VP of HR & Comp will lead the efforts of everything people in our organization. They will spearhead a “thinking out of the box” mentality to recruit the best of the best for our hotel and corporate teams. They will lead the charge on all benefit sourcing to provide comprehensive and cost-effective options for all. This position is “hands on” in that they will execute as well as collaborating with their team, other leaders in the corporate office and the hotels to create consistency and mitigate risk.

Essential duties and responsibilities will include:

Partner with Executive Team Members to make strategic decisions to foster high performing teams that work within our vision, culture, and values. Lead, mentor, and manage all corporate Human Resources & Compensation Directors and Managers to ensure a cohesive and communicative work environment for our internal and external clients. Create attractive recruitment opportunities that set us apart from competitors. Formulate programs, policies, and procedures for recruitment, testing, placement, classification, orientation, benefits, and compensation. Develop exciting, inclusive, innovative onboarding programs. Create, evaluate, and monitor training programs to ensure they are effective, timely, and encourage retention. Administer, direct, and review employee benefit programs, including the integration of benefit programs following mergers and acquisitions. Design, evaluate, and modify benefit policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive, legally compliant and increase the quality of life for team members. Mediate between benefit providers and associates. Prepare and/or approve all required filings, reporting, audits. Communicate clear, concise, consistent, and accurate information to all they encounter. Oversee or manage associate relation situations and guide to retain the associate or mitigate risk. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations for human resources and compensation. Work with corporate and hotel teams to reduce workman’s compensation claims. Able to process all aspects of payroll related systems and accounts. Develop methods to improve employment policies, processes, and practices, and recommend changes to Executive Team Chairs IMPACT and Awards Committees. Assist in the submission of all awards nominations to outside sources. Work with corporate and hotel team members to produce an exciting, motivating, and informational company newsletter.

The ideal candidate will have at least seven (7) years of progressive responsibility in human resources and compensation. Sourcing and facilitation of associate benefits is required. Experience in senior level leadership will be key to the success of this role. Previous roles in hospitality are a plus. Education and certifications in human resources and compensation are preferred.
