Responsibilities:

Manage incoming calls or incoming post services claims work.

Verifies contract and benefit eligibility; provide authorization for inpatient admission, outpatient precertification, prior authorization, and post service requests.

Refer cases for clinical review to a Nurse reviewer.

Check on benefits for facility-based treatments.

Positive customer relations and coordinates within the company to ensure customer requests / questions are handled appropriately.

Prior authorizations; initiate requests, track progress and responses from insurance carriers and other payers.

Review prescription for accuracy of prescribed treatment regimen prior to submission of authorization.

Requirements:

HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of customer service or call-center experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

1 year of Pharmacy or Specialty Pharmacy and Pharmacy Prior Authorization experience.
