Clinical Research Assistant / Emergency Medicine / BWH-BWFH MOLAR
This is an excellent full-time opportunity for bilingual (English and Spanish) college graduates with an interest in medicine and/or clinical research. Working with us as an emergency department (ED) clinical research coordinator is a great way to experience medicine and clinical research. You will be embedded in our clinical work and interact closely with patients, nurses, physician assistants, doctors-in-training, faculty, and other staff.
Your main responsibility will be screening and enrolling participants for the MOLAR Study at both the
Brigham and Women's Hospital
and
the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital . The MOLAR Study (Mapping Oral Health and Local Area Resources) is a randomized controlled trial of an adverse social determinants of health (aSDoH) screening and resource linkage intervention for ED patients. The aim of the study is to screen ED patients to identify unmet oral health needs or aSDoH risks/needs and provide geographically targeted resources to address them.
You may also be involved in other ED-based research projects throughout your time with us.
You will also have direct access to the department’s Research Director, research faculty members, and other staff who will mentor you in your career development. You will emerge from this experience with a terrific understanding of clinical research and medicine.
In summary, this is a position for someone who has an interest in healthcare research and wants to plan a career in research or someone who wants to equip themselves with exposure to a fast-paced clinical environment before applying to medical, PA, nursing, or graduate schools or is preparing for medical residency.
Alumni of the BWH ED Research Team have gone on to matriculate to medical, PA, and nursing schools.
