Position Summary:

The ERP Specialist is responsible for leading and facilitating the change management activities associated with the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and future IT projects across various government departments. The role involves working with stakeholders at all levels of government to ensure smooth transitions to new systems and processes, minimizing disruption and ensuring sustained adoption. The professional will be a key liaison between the IT department and end-users, ensuring that the ERP system supports the strategic objectives of public service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Change Management Strategy:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy tailored to the ERP implementation.
    • Conduct readiness assessments and create plans to address gaps in preparedness among departments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Identify and engage key stakeholders across various departments to ensure alignment with the ERP project goals.
    • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and focus groups to gather input, address concerns, and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Communication and Outreach:
    • Design and execute communication plans to inform and update employees about the ERP implementation.
    • Prepare and distribute communication materials, including newsletters, memos, and presentations, to ensure transparency and clarity throughout the process.
  • Training and Capacity Building:
    • Collaborate with training teams to ensure that employees receive appropriate training on the new ERP system.
  • Change Impact Analysis:
    • Perform change impact assessments to evaluate how the ERP system will affect existing processes, roles, and responsibilities within government departments.
    • Work with department heads to develop action plans that address specific changes and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Resistance and Issue Management:
    • Identify potential sources of resistance to the ERP implementation and develop strategies to address and mitigate these challenges.
    • Provide guidance and support to department leaders in managing resistance and resolving issues related to the change.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor the progress of change management activities, including the effectiveness of communication and training efforts, and report findings to senior management.
    • Use data and feedback to adjust change management strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay informed on best practices in change management and public sector ERP implementations.
    • Provide recommendations for enhancing change management processes within the civil service.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
    • Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in change management, with a focus on ERP implementations or large-scale IT projects within the public sector.
    • Experience working within government finance is preferred.
    • Knowledge of SaaS ERP platforms such as Infor Public Sector is preferred.
    • Deep understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools, particularly in the context of public sector organizations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a complex environment.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
    • Proficiency in using change management and project management tools.

Additional information: 35 hours per week max. Expected salary $75,000 to $85,000 dependent on experience.
