**Basic Function**
To oversee and purchase products and materials cost effectively for the branches within the region, while maintaining a balance of inventory in relation to sales.
**Responsibilities**
* Purchases and controls inventory of all products for Branch Office.
* Checks stock and replenishes as needed.
* Continually monitors (non-moving) items
* Accounts for and reacts quickly to all back-orders and transfers while maintaining minimal lead time.
* Reviews ROR (Recommended Order Reports) and makes decisions on orders and quantities.
* Line Buy Maintenance follow-up weekly.
* Continually follows strategic inventory plan, watching for trends.
* Scrutinizes transfers and purchase order variances.
* Reconciles Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports, checking for accuracy.
* Negotiates pricing and maintains relationships with vendors.
* Continually utilizes sourcing techniques to obtain better pricing, material, etc.
* Continually maintains relationship with Sales Department.
* All other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
* 1-2 years Purchasing experience
* Product/plastics industry knowledge a plus
* Experience on computerized purchasing system
* Extremely detail oriented and organized
* Strong negotiating expertise
* Excellent communication to include vendors & inside staff (Warehouse, Sales and Management)
* Ability to prioritize and make decisions
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Some college/AA Degree preferred
**Required Skills**
* Strong math aptitude
* Typing 45-50 wpm
* 10-key by touch
* Computer skills
