Position Title: Hydromat Machinist - Setup/Operator Department: Machine ShopLocation: Fenton, MOReports To: Production Supervisor - Machine ShopClassification: Hourly - Non-ExemptTypical Hours: 2nd Shift - (Monday - Thursday 3:15pm - 1:15am), (Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 12:15am), or (Monday - Thursday 3:15pm - 11:15pm and Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm) Position Summary:Set-Up/Operator position responsible for machining of components using Hydromat rotary transfer machine while following the documented procedures, including safety procedures. Will be responsible for the quality of parts produced. Assists in the instruction of set-up, operators, and operator trainees. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and make adjustments. May be assigned to remove and/or replace worn or defective parts. Must have the fundamental tools to safely and effectively perform the job. PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection are required at all times. Essential Job Duties:Must be able to set up, operate and adjust Hydromat machineRequires the use of precision measuring devicesMust be able to work from drawings with minimum instruction and supervisionRequired to set and sharpen tools.Troubleshoot machines, set speeds, and feeds for proper materials and do minor repairs as neededResponsible for the quality of parts producedRequired Experience/Skills:Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints, work instructions, SOP's, and other technical information in English.Must be able to lift 35lbs. on a regular basisMust be able to monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to be sure the machine is working properly and use proper precision measuring devicesAttention to detail and ability to handle multiple prioritiesMust be self-directed and take initiative to learn new skills relating to the maintenance of the machineDesired Experience/Skills:Experience with Hydromat MachinesPossess a hands-on style with strong mechanical aptitudeWork Environment:Will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, oils, and chemicals in a loud manufacturing environment.
