Scotland Health is seeking a talented individual to lead our Materials Management team. The Director of Materials Management is responsible for the overall leadership, administration and service provided in the Materials Management department.

Responsible for the management of a centralized system for acquisition, inventory control, handling, storage, and distribution of hospital supplies and equipment for the health care system.
Negotiation and purchase of capital equipment, supplies and services at lowest total cost options while ensuring consistent product availability and appropriateness for use. Manages receiving, handling, storage, and shipping of equipment and supplies in a manner that protects the hospital's capital investment.
Manages the distribution of supplies and equipment utilizing a system that minimizes hospital costs and provides consistent availability. Responsible for maintenance and promotion of sound inventory control practices, minimizing acquisition, inventory holding and obsolescence costs. Manage cost reduction, delivery standards, distribution, supplies liaison, inventory control, efficiency, process, sourcing, and quality control contributions.
Execution of patient and departmental charging activities associated with inventory supplies in a manner that protects and maximizes revenue capture.
Documentation and reporting relative to material management activities, as required by standard accounting and financial practices.
Operation and ongoing maintenance of Materials Management system.
Utilization and promotion of hospital-wide product/equipment standardization to support the delivery of quality patient care and minimize operating costs.
Responsible for budget planning, preparation, justification, and accountability for operating within the established budget parameters.
Maintains a positive, collaborative attitude with working relationships with SHCS staff and physicians to accomplish reduction of cost for goods and services to the organization.
Maintains a competent and effective team to ensure SHCS is receiving proper quality and quantity of products/equipment/services delivered in a timely fashion and most cost-efficient manner.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Business or related field of study required as well as 5 or more years experience in Hospital Materials Management. Preferred skills include exceptional communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to effectively express facts, ideas and views while communicating as well as a scientific approach to problem solving preferred.
