The Payroll Accountant is responsible for the management and coordination of a timely and accurate payroll process. This position prepares, runs, and analyzes payroll reports, payroll schedules, and payroll related journal entries using established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Additionally, the Payroll Accountant will complete other payroll and general accounting duties as assigned. Bi-weekly payroll processing to include follow up on timecard omissions and issues, review of pre-payroll reports, transmission of payroll, check printing, etc. Analyzing payroll reports for appropriate job codes, cost centers, and allocations. Processing of adjustments and additional payments. Ensuring completion and accuracy of quarter and year end processing. Communicating with staff to resolve issues and provide information and updates. Collaborating with Human Resources to ensure consistency of processes and promote teamwork. Recommending payroll policies, procedures and system enhancements to improve payroll process and increase efficiency. Working with payroll software provider to address concerns. General accounting duties, that may include journal entries, bank reconciliations, and deposits. All other duties as assigned Skills: Payroll processing experience using established software products. Familiarity with local, state, and federal labor standards. Knowledge and application of general accounting concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong detail orientation, time management, communication, and organizational skills. Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance related field OR Associates Degree in a Finance related field with 6+ years of relative experience Minimum Experience Required

: 3+ years previous payroll processing experience, and general accounting experience Dayforce HCM experience preferred License/Registration/ Certifications Required: None Training Requirements: Physical Requirements: This position is largely sedentary, requiring little physical effort with only light, physical exertion required. The constant physical demand of this position is sitting. The frequent physical demands of this position are standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, and hand/eye/foot coordination. The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and grasping.
