Senior Energy Engineer This position is located in Mid to East USA regions Regular travel to project locations in multiple states will be customary, mainly focused on the Northeastern and Midwestern US region. Our client is a growth-oriented National energy services company specializing Design-Build, Energy Services and Construction services in a wide range of energy-efficiency solutions including Water and Wastewater industrial projects, infrastructure, and building facilities. Our client is looking for a strong Senior Energy Engineer to join their Group to join their engineering team energy services—conserving resources and optimizing building operations. This Senior Energy Engineer leads a project team that identifies, calculates and develops energy and water conservation savings. The engineer also manages the development of scope, price, incentives, tax implications, and savings for clients. The candidate must be goal-driven and use a team approach to develop innovative projects. Candidates who can balance engineering knowledge and experience, creative solutions, and thorough and comprehensive problem-solving abilities will be successful. . OVERVIEW: This role will be responsible for evaluating wastewater, water, and/or waste conversion systems and developing revenue-generating, energy-efficient, process and capital improvement projects with technical and financial solutions that meet customer objectives. In this position, you will conduct site investigations, evaluate processes, create and recommend scopes of work, produce capital and operational cost estimates, and work jointly with and manage the activities of design subcontractors in support of design-build energy performance contract projects through each stage of development including qualifying opportunities, assisting with creation of proposals, performing preliminary development/technical audits, orchestrating design-build delivery, and overseeing commissioning, operations support and measurement and verification activities. This role requires great relationship building skills with solid engineering expertise capable of maturing possibilities into long term investments. Regular travel to project locations in multiple states will be customary, mainly focused on the Northeastern and Midwestern US region. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conduct on-site assessments in prospect buildings then develop engineering solutions to calculate energy & water savings solutions - Conduct on-site assessments in prospective buildings. - Develop engineering solutions to help clients achieve financial, technical, operational, and environmental goals. - ASHRAE Level III and preconstruction experience - Perform and/or manage assessments from inception to contract - Calculate energy & water savings - Define scopes and pricing for energy conservation measures - Prepare sales proposal content - Assist in the client facing sales presentation - Assist construction in commissioning of all the installed solutions - Continuous professional development - Mentor engineering team in subject matter expertise - Experience in service, maintenance, repair, and replacement costs over life cycle of ECMs - Strategic financial planning over the life cycle of ECMs - Demonstrated performance working with solution providers to provide energy/utility performance improvements in commercial, industrial and health facilities - In-depth and advanced building services knowledge such as mechanical & HVAC, Building Automation System, electrical & lighting REQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Industrial or energy systems Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management, or equivalent work experience preferred. PE License preferred. 6+ years’ professional experience desired Technical experience with energy upgrade projects and performance contracts a plus Hold one or more technology and industry certifications (CEM, CEA, CMVP, LEED AP, etc.) a plus Demonstrated experience performing energy audits according to ASHRAE standards (ASHRAE Level 2 & 3 and Investment Grade Audits) Advanced knowledge of energy modelling/best practice/codes (ASHRAE, IESNA, NEC, etc.) Experience in seeing projects through - from proposal, implementation to completion Technical experience with energy efficiency technologies Understanding of design and construction processes from development/preliminary design through construction and commissioning Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and graphs Understanding of the application of energy screening models to determine the technical and economic viability of energy efficiency and capital improvement projects Understanding of energy units and energy savings calculations Direct experience with commissioning and retro-commissioning and working knowledge of measurement and verification (M&V) Familiarity in using CMiC construction software Experience working with a water/ wastewater construction firm Membership in Water Environment Federation / American Water Works Association Board Certified Environmental Engineer If you are a dynamic, successful, driven professional, this is a company that will further your experience and career growth.
