We have an important role to play in securing the region's clean and reliable energy future and seek folks from a variety of disciplines to join us In this role you will be an integral part of the Emerging Technologies team within the Advanced Technology Solutions department. This dynamic group consists of highly intellectual, high-performance R&D engineers, each recognized as an industry subject matter expert in their fields. Internally and externally, the team is known as the "Think Tank" and "Innovation Engine", dedicated to solving real-world problems through innovation.

How you will make an impact:

  • Application Development: Analyze, design, code and prototype innovative engineering, architectural and software solutions to complex technical challenges arise from grid operations and planning, using advanced measurements like synchrophasor, point-on-wave and other types of data.
  • Engineering Analysis: Analyze grid events, provide technical explanations and solutions using advanced measurements.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to synchrophasor and point-on-wave data infrastructure maintenance and updates.
  • External Collaboration: Engage in collaborative efforts with leading research organizations such as EPRI, DOE National Labs, PSERC, CURENT, and software/service/platform vendors.
  • Technology Exploration and Use Case Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, collaborate with business users to develop compelling use cases, create prototypes, and provide innovative solutions to both new and existing challenges.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a Power System focus.
  • Hands-on experience on projects using advanced measurements.
  • Hands-on experience in software development using popular programing languages like C, Python, Java, Matlab, etc.
  • Good analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • At least five years of experience is required for the Senior position.
