Associate Director of SEO

General Description

The Associate Director of SEO is a seasoned SEO professional and digital marketing strategist. In this senior level leadership position, you are responsible for applying your deep SEO knowledge (focusing on ecomm SEO, content SEO and technical SEO) to address key client business challenges and then translate them in actionable SEO strategies and tactics. This is accomplished by having a thorough understanding of strategic, tactical and technical components of SEO and along with an understanding of the client's climate, category, company, customer and competition.

You will also have management responsibilities for 5 - 6 Overdrive team members who will be reporting into you and form the core of a team you help oversee. You will be tasked to work, manage, and mentor those on your team to ensure seamless communication of the client's strategic objectives while providing your team actional guidance around the tactical delivery of Overdrive's SEO services and solutions.

Associate Director of SEO Responsibilities
  • Work with senior level client team members, in a fast-paced environment to address their business and strategic challenges
  • Actively communicate SEO-centric and advise, recommendations, and strategy to address client communicated business and strategic challenges
  • Develop and confidently present actionable SEO-centric strategies and recommendations to address client communicated business and strategic challenges
  • Guide and oversee the implementation and execution of all facets of SEO-centric strategies developed with all Overdrive and client team members
  • Ensure flawless and on-time delivery of client developed SEO-centric strategies and roadmaps
  • Ability to leverage and utilize key SEO tools and technologies such as Google - Analytics/Search Console/Tag Manager/AdWords, Brightedge, Deepcrawl, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Adobe AEM/Analytics, to inform and drive strategy and tactical recommendations
  • Address and oversee both near-term and long-term SEO-centric initiatives.
  • Monitor both short and long-term performance or all SEO-centric client initiatives
  • Oversee the technical and content initiatives and optimization recommendations/initiatives
  • Review all program analytics and measure as a means to monitor performance and to develop the necessary tactics and strategies to address performance insights
  • Proactively bring SEO-centric solutions and recommends to both the Overdrive and client team
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments within the SEO landscape and be readily able to speak to and address or formulate an associated POV
Management Responsibilities
  • Successfully build, maintain and oversee a team of 5 - 6 Overdrive team members though consistent communication, mentorship and training
  • Manage relationships with senior level client staff as well as day-to-day contacts
  • Provide advanced SEO and marketing counsel and advice to clients and others
  • Develop and implement both short and long-term strategic marketing and SEO programs and initiatives for clients
  • identify client growth and up-sell opportunities as a means to evolve and grow client relationships
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to agency personnel to ensure fulfillment of client objectives and expectations
  • Ensure complete, timely and actionable direction to all departments on all client programs
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of specific Overdrive accounts
  • Strategic implementation of Overdrive's policies, procedures and products
  • Provide agency management with client communications and information relevant to the Overdrive's overall performance on accounts
  • Analyze agency/campaign reports and communicate key findings, actionable insights, and forward-looking recommendations to client
  • Prepare and present presentations associated with agency and client performance associated with programs being managed
  • Assume other agency responsibilities as directed by agency principals
Required Competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge, inclusive of best practices associated both technical and content driven SEO, integrated digital marketing and ecommerce
  • Thorough understanding of online and SEO tracking, measurement and analytics platforms and metrics used to measure and track campaign performance, inclusive of Omniture, Google Analytics and others.
  • Commanding knowledge of SEO tools and technologies including: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Structured data, Google - Analytics/Search Console/Tag Manager/AdWords, SEMRush, Ahrefs, SimilarWeb, Salesforce, Kibana, ScreamingFrog, DeepCrawl, BrightEdge, Conductor, Jupyter, RStudio, Tableau, SiSense
  • Commanding knowledge of SEO tactics such as: A|B testing, SEO audits, Keyword research, Site taxonomy, Information architecture, Link building, International SEO, Technical SEO, On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, UX/CRO
  • Management of agency financial process inclusive of Net/Gross, estimate, time tracking and campaign budgets
  • A thorough understanding of interactive and general marketing principals
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the underpinnings of online marketing, as well as tactical knowledge around how strategies are implemented across various channels inclusive of SEO, SEM, Online Media, Social Media, Application Development and more

Experience
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 - 7 years of SEO (technical and content) and Digital Marketing experience, inclusive of 3 - 5 years of personnel/team management responsibilities
  • Current Google AdWords and Google Analytics certification is a plus
  • SEO Ecommerce experience a plus
  • Ability to showcase thought leadership, best practices and marketing prowess via writing for Blogs or industry publications a plus.
