- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing while maintaining strong relationships with Suppliers.
- Ensure product aligns with the business needs of pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
- Monitor Inventory levels and forecast future need.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed decisions.
- Using NetSuite MRP system, execute the daily ordering process to meet production and service demand.
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Fulfillment teams to ensure parts and equipment meet demand.
- Maintain sale prices for components under assigned commodity based on sale price strategy.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Inventory Valuation, Product Availability, Quantity of Backordered Items, Obsolescence, Annualized Savings, Margin, for assigned components.
- Solve Supply Chain issues that arise and work with internal and external teams for solutions.
- Support with the coordination of project transitions to limit obsolescence and ensure new component availability at launch date.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Other duties as assigned; duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a Buyer or Material Planner role
- Knowledge of an MRP ordering system, NetSuite (Oracle) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong negotiation and written/verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively with multiple teams.
- High attention to detail, able to analyze facts and make decisions for the department.
- Experience in purchasing electrical components a plus (Variable Frequency Drives, Contacts, Enclosures, etc.)
- Experience tracking markets trends and adapting purchasing strategy based on findings preferred
- Contract management a plus
- History executing supply transitions and the launch of new products.
- Certification in purchasing or supply chain management (e.g., Six Sigma, APICS).
- Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus
- Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgment and make sound data-backed decisions
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Views customer care as high priority; exhibits a positive can-do attitude
- Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm, though additional time outside of normal hours may be required as needed when communicating with international suppliers. On average the Team Member will work 40-45 hours per week.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors. Travel is primarily local during the business day to wash sites and suppliers with occasional overnight travel for supplier visits and trade shows.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
- Work and commute in all weather conditions
- Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
- Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers
- Work in a fast-paced environment where they will often be multitasking
- Move about inside the office to access standard office equipment
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as keyboard, copy machine and printer
- Remain in a stationary position 50%+ of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
- Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds
- Drive between company locations and/or vendors or suppliers as needed while on job
