TITLE: Hospital Marketing Liaison

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Census Development

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

The Hospital Marketing Liaison will be responsible for building new and maintaining current relationships with referral sources, for growing and managing patient referrals to achieve admission goals, and for assisting with development and execution of marketing plans. Focus will be near the Cicero area and West/Southwestern Chicagoland.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree preferred in marketing or a healthcare related field

Proven success in external marketing to physicians, discharge planners, and other healthcare referral sources

Knowledge in skilled nursing and/or long-term care with a minimum of 1 year of experience in this area

Able to read and understand clinical information and make independent determinations regarding patient needs and clinical appropriateness for the skilled nursing facility level of care

Ability to interact in a professional manner with hospital staff, physicians, patients, family members, visitors, personnel, and the general public

Must have enthusiasm, patience, and present a cheerful and professional demeanor

Must be proficient with data tracking, trending, and report writing

Able to make independent decisions and work autonomously

Able to read, write, and speak English effectively

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Develop and maintain relationships with hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare referral sources

B. Grow referrals from hospital referral sources, and other sources as assigned, in order to meet or exceed referral and admission targets.

C. Complete daily rounds with assigned hospitals/referral sources

D. Manage referrals received from these sources:

a. conduct clinical review of patient records and make independent decisions regarding acceptance for facilities within the Alden network,

b. conduct an on-site assessment of patients,

c. meet with referred patients and/or their family members,

d. assist referral sources in the process of admitting to the Alden facility,

e. communicate appropriate information to the facility regarding the admission

f. resolve any barriers to admission

E. Participate in development and execution of marketing plans

F. Maintain referral tracking log, prepare and update reports as assigned, and follow trends in the industry and within Alden

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to physically move throughout the work day

Must be able to effectively handle the mental and emotional stressors of the position

Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function effectively

Must function independently, be flexible, have personal integrity and exceptional interpersonal skills

Must be in good general health to perform role functions

May be required to lift, pull, push, and move equipment and supplies
