Mt. Carmel Job Type Full-time Description Join our excellent team of professionals to help meet the nutritional needs of the people we serve. Mount Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Manchester, NH is a 120-bed facility offering short and long-term care in a warm and supportive atmosphere where residents are cared for according to their individual needs. We are proud to be a part of Catholic Charities New Hampshires continuum of care.
We are looking for an experienced full-time Cook (40 hours/week, with weekend rotations) to join our Culinary Services team on the day shift. This position will also have every other weekend off. We'll pay you based on your experience and offer you a great work environment with generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401K and life insurance along with other fringe benefits.
Prior food service experience is required; ServSafe Certification is preferred. You must be a self-starter, dependable and demonstrate not only outstanding customer service but compassion and patience for the residents you'll serve. It will be your responsibility to ensure that food is prepared, cooked, and served with consideration for residents' individual needs.
Job Responsibilities
Review menus prior to preparation of food
Process diet changes and new diets as received from the nursing supervisor, when necessary
Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures
Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to ensure that meals are prepared on time
Assure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures
Requirements Must be willing to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and have received at least one dose prior to starting
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess at least one years experience in a health related or food service facility, preferably in a long term care setting
Be dependable
Must have knowledge of sanitary procedures
Must be able to read, write and speak English in an understandable manner
Must possess ability to deal tactfully with people; to work with minimum of supervision; and to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Must be able to relate to the residents and staff of the facility
