Job DescriptionPatient Transportation Coordinator at Providence Office Park Portland (On Call and Variable Shift)The Patient Transportation Coordinator coordinates the movement of patients within and outside of the hospital. The Patient Transportation Coordinator has the primary responsibility of reviewing and coordinating non-emergent medical transportation requests for patients leaving the hospital and reviewing and coordinating patient transport within the hospital. Chart review and/or calls to clarify transportation needs will be performed to assure appropriate modes and timing of transport. The Patient Transportation Coordinator collaborates with the transfer center, bed control, care management, environmental services, nurses and others to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flow. The Patient Transportation Coordinator works diligently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, provides superior communication , customer service and service recover, utilizes good judgment and independent thinking that meets or exceeds the expectations of nurses , patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff members. The Patient Transportation Coordinator has responsibility for excellent communication (written and verbal/non-verbal) and the coordination of transportation in an interdisciplinary professional manner.Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable.
