Overview:

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. is hiring an experienced Director of Finance to join our Finance Team.

The Director of Finance serves as a key business partner to the Senior Leadership team and is a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team. This position will oversee strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial close, financial analysis, and enhancing internal controls and procedures.

This position requires a high degree of problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate across functions.

This leadership role will be based out of our Headquarters at Coopersburg office.

Responsibilities:

Ownership of annual budget process to set direction and establish financial targets for the Lutrons Commercial Business Unit

Evaluate and assess the financial results of the Commercial Business Unit

Business Forecast and Planning:

  • Actively engage and participate with the business planning process.
  • Build and manage business sales and spending forecasts
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and review key inputs and assumptions
  • Evaluate business opportunities, investment projects, and cost optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals
  • Lead monthly Commercial financial results discussion

Finance Business Partner:

  • Drive meaningful analysis to guide business investments and decisions
  • Work proactively and collaboratively across the organization with product managers, sales, and operations and advise on how business actions may affect the financials
  • Ensure business initiatives and metrics are aligned with strategic goals
  • Monitor relevant control limits and escalate concerns to the business
  • Identify key trends and areas of opportunities and make recommendations
  • Prepare executive and senior management level presentations and work directly with the leadership team

Closely align with the other teams in the Finance department to drive improved and standardized global processes

Operational Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial planning and analysis processes, methodologies, and tools

Provide ad-hoc duties, financial analysis, and reporting as assigned

Team Leadership: Manage and develop an impactful finance team, providing coaching, guidance, and mentorship. Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development opportunities

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics. Provide insights and recommendations based on a deep understanding of the external environment and its impact on financial performance

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field

MBA preferred

Minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive accounting/finance experience

5+ years people management experience directly leading and managing analysts and/or managers. Experience promoting a culture of accountability and fostering growth and development

Proven track record of working collaboratively, with an ability to influence major decisions through reasoned analysis and good judgment about people and business issues. Outstanding technical and analytical skills, communication ability, and sound judgment to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings

Strong understanding of both corporate and operational finance with an orientation to value creation and core business drivers, and a strong business acumen

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all degrees earned

Legal authorization to work in the US is required
