The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is a strategic organizational partner that plays a leadership role in financial planning, forecasting, and review of results and initiatives. The position is responsible for leading financial planning and analysis activities supporting Advocates, Inc. and Affiliates. Key responsibilities focus on month-end reporting and analysis, leading and coordinating planning and forecasting activities, and ad hoc FP&A support as required. This position will work closely with the executive leadership team and service line operational directors, ad will manage the FP&A team.

Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the annual budget planning process. Partner with leadership team and budget stakeholders to help achieve margin expectations.
  2. Prepare and publish monthly reporting package(s), including variance analysis and relevant commentary.
  3. Develop and manage a weekly, monthly and quarterly management reporting cadence that provides continuous insight into the performance of the business, including trends, variances and risk assessments.
  4. Create transparent real-time reporting with actionable insights around critical metrics and lead effective cadences across the divisions that facilitate understanding of performance drivers.
  5. Coordinate and manage monthly reforecast/projection meetings with services lines and administrative groups. Make updates to projections as appropriate.
  6. Review monthly financial reports and update financial forecasts for all divisions as needed.
  7. Lead organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  8. Prepare ad hoc reporting as needed.
  9. Provide exceptional financial support and strategic partnership to budget managers and other stakeholders.
  10. Lead strategic initiatives across multiple functions and locations to improve forecast accuracy, profitability, and achieve/outperform Advocates goals.
  11. Manage, coach, and develop members of the FP&A team.
  12. Attend and actively participate in supervision.
  13. Apply a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to embrace outside/in thinking that advances the organizations operational and financial agenda.
  14. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
  15. Perform all duties in accordance with the agencys policies and procedures.
  16. Strictly follow all agency performance standards.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred, with a strong financial background.
  2. Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience with management experience inclusive of finance leadership role(s).
  4. Proven track record delivering exceptional results through a high performing team and driving results beyond the finance function.
  5. Exceptional analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of management.
  7. In-depth working knowledge of business operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal design.
  8. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite.
  9. Experience with general ledger and planning platforms preferred, specifically Adaptive Planning.
  10. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
  11. Ability to execute a variety of decision-making models.
  12. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  13. Superior communication skills including writing and verbal skills.
  14. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
