We have an opening on our team for a Machinist. Our staff must be available to work when needed, 24/7 to meet the needs of our customers. Our customers count on us to minimize their down-time for critical systems and keep coming back because of the high level of service they receive from us. We offer a combination of in-shop and in-place repair options.Job Summary: The Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating various machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesAssess and manage work area to ensure the safety of themselves and others.Set up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes.Fabricate, modify, or repair machine components to spec based on blueprints.Create replacement parts from worn samples.Perform mechanical repairs and fabricate replacement pieces for pumps, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, other mechanical items.Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Required Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge in standard practices in comparable manufacturing environmentsFollows directions and procedures under limited supervisionConducts problem-solving skills under limited supervisionAbility to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelinesAttention to detail and alert at all times to ensure safetyAbility to communicate with co-workers and supervisorMechanical aptitude and good math skillsKnowledge in the use of general hand tools such as hammers, shovels, brooms, tape measures, grinders, welder, etc.It is important that our team members display a positive attitude about the work to be doneQualificationsApplicants with prior experience in similar industry preferred.High School Diploma or GE required.Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and be eligible for TWIC card.Be available 24/7 to meet the emergency needs of our customers when needed - Some travel required. Driver's license required.Physical RequirementsPosition requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, overhead work, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces, such as accessing manholes. Use of manufacturing equipment. Work in areas at times that are not environmentally controlled. Work in environment where harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, gases, etc. might be present and the use of a respirator may be required. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
