Engineering Manager – Solar Leap29 have a fantastic opportunity available for an Engineering Manager to spearhead engineering initiatives for solar energy projects, overseeing their development, construction, and operation. This role involves leading a team of engineers and collaborating closely with project managers, finance experts, and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of solar projects from inception to operational stages. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of solar energy systems, project management expertise, and the ability to motivate and guide a team towards success.

The positions can be based in either Connecticut, Austin (Texas) or New York.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct the engineering planning, design, and implementation of community and utility scale solar power projects.

Manage technical aspects of project development, including site assessment, system design, energy production forecasts, and technology selection.

Collaborate with project managers, finance, procurement, and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.

Oversee the creation of engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documents for project bidding and construction purposes.

Provide technical leadership during negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.

Implement industry best practices for project engineering, ensuring adherence to standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Conduct technical due diligence for site acquisition, assessing potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.

Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to optimize solar asset performance, including technology upgrades and troubleshooting.

Lead and develop a team of engineers and external engineering partners, offering guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and project excellence.

Stay updated on advancements in solar technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in project engineering and execution.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree

in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field);

Master's degree or higher preferred.

Minimum 8 years

of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in the solar industry and 3 years in a leadership capacity.

Demonstrated success

in managing engineering aspects of solar projects across development, construction, and operation phases.

Profound knowledge

of solar system components, design, and energy modeling tools.

Strong project management skills , capable of handling multiple projects and teams concurrently.

Familiarity

with regulatory, permitting, and compliance requirements for solar projects.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills , adept at leading cross-functional teams and engaging with senior management.

Professional Engineer (PE) license

is advantageous.
