A leading construction consultancy is seeking a BSA Principal Designer to join their rapidly growing team. This exciting role has been created to meet the increasing demand following the introduction of the Building Safety Act (BSA) and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while developing expertise in this critical area. Ideal for an ex-architect or someone with knowledge of CDM and building regulations looking to step into a Principal Designer role. The BSA Principal Designer Role As a BSA Principal Designer, you will ensure that projects comply with the latest regulations under the Building Safety Act and embed health and safety best practices throughout the design process. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to manage design risk and provide expert guidance on compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic team at the forefront of the evolving regulatory landscape. BSA Principal Designer Key Responsibilities Act as the Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act (BSA) and CDM 2015 regulations. Collaborate with clients, design teams, and contractors to embed safety and compliance into the design process. Provide expert advice on building regulations, risk management, and design compliance. Prepare and review pre-construction information, construction phase plans, and risk assessments. Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Support the development of the consultancy's BSA services, contributing to best practices and knowledge sharing. Engage with clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong relationships. The BSA Principal Designer Qualifications Background as an architect, or strong experience in CDM and building regulations. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification. Understanding of the Building Safety Act and its implications for design and construction. Professional membership with APS (AaPS, IMaPS, or CMaPS) or a willingness to achieve accreditation. Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams. A proactive mindset with a passion for compliance and safety in design. In Return?
