We are seeking a skilled, motivated Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for surveying projects, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and project timelines to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing requirement documents and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
  • Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Managing bids from vendors and contractors
  • Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
  • Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
  • Compiling and recording actual costs
  • Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs
  • Read architectural and engineering drawings and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
  • Present estimates to clients in a timely manner
  • Recommend cost-reduction/ value engineer options
  • Assist project management team in final project preparation transactions
  • Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation
  • Utilize cost estimating software such as Bluebeam to obtain quantities for materials being priced
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in mathematics and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Previous on-the-job training is required
  • Ability to operate independently or with a team
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Site (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using cost estimating software Bluebeam
  • 1 - 3 years' of construction experience preferred
