How you make a difference:

The Pharmacist performs a range of pharmaceutical and consulting duties, such as dispensing drugs, establishing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with them. They also participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmacy operations and programs, and oversee the work of part-time pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Overall, their role involves managing and optimizing the pharmacy's operations and ensuring the safe and effective use of drugs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all pharmacy operations including dispensing of drugs and maintaining inventory.
  • Provides pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals and maintains confidential records.
  • Prepares periodic reports on department progress and provides in-depth pharmacologic and pharmacokinetic consultations.
  • Complies with all requirements and reports identified by the Florida Department of Health/ Board of Pharmacy as Consultant Pharmacist of Record.
  • Works on reducing facility costs by implementing current Drug Protocols and Formulary, and reports to various committees.


Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Experience

  • Minimum One (1) year experience working as a Pharmacist. Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must be licensed as a Pharmacist by the state in which work is performed. Consultant Pharmacy license required (Florida).
