AOI Machine Operator - SMT Location: North America, USA, TampaRef: INTERCONNECTNA01047Division: Smiths InterconnectJob Function: OperationsJob Description The AOI Machine Operator, will be responsible to operate the AOI machine to inspect electronic and mechanical components during the manufacturing process in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production unit. The primary goal will be to ensure accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects coming off the SMT line. Providing feedback to the SMT Machine Operators on first piece for optimal line operation. SMTDuties & Responsibilities Load AOI programs per documentation. Review AOI output results. Using magnification aids and microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards. Ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with components and to highlight/communicate those problems to SMT machine operator for immediate correction. Performs rework/touch up activities on incomplete or as required to bring to IPC-A-610 standards. Maintains a clean and organized work environment, utilizing 5S techniques. Cleans machine and related work areas at completion of each job, to ensure a timely and efficient changeover to the next job. Ensure a safe and compliant working environment that adheres to all HSE controls. Trains employees as requested by supervisor. Collaborate with Supervisor, Quality Inspectors, SMT Process Technician and SMT Manufacturing Engineer functions for support as needed. Performs other duties as required. Quality control and part identification. Demonstrates a positive attitude, takes initiative and fosters a team working environment. Functions under time pressure while adhering to work instructions and quality guidelines. Be adaptable to change. Experience: 5 years' experience in soldering. AOI experience is preferred. Education:High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Security: U.S. Person required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). May be required to obtain a security clearance.
