Overview:

We are looking for a part-time on-call Custodial Housekeeper (Janitor) to perform custodial duties for a large facility. This role will perform janitorial cleaning services in an office environment cleaning offices, conference rooms, hallways, and bathrooms. This part-time role is a perfect opportunity for an individual looking for flexibility, additional income, or to grow their skill set. This position would work on site at 626 Wallace Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 and we are currently paying $21.57 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs cleaning services in all common areas in designated buildings including hallways, bathrooms, conference rooms, and offices.
  • Performs emergency procedures as requested and keeps entrances and exits clean and unobstructed.
  • Work safely with minimal supervision, follow written procedures and verbal instructions, perform administrative and manual work, and manage time to complete assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned to insure timely project execution.
Qualifications:

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Basic computer experience including email, payroll time entry, webpage navigation and online training.
  • Good attendance, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Ability to follow oral / written instructions and exercise good judgement to complete assignments on time.
  • Complete and return required administrative paperwork as directed, (e.g., timesheets, vacation slips, classroom and computer-based training, log sheets, service records etc.).

Preferred Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED/TASC/ HiSET with at least two (2) years of job-related experience or equivalent.

  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the IUOE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Able to work night, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Wage Data Per State Requirements:

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Such positions may involve routine lifting of up to 20 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling, and carrying.

  • Repetitive movements of the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, and fingers.

Work Environment:

  • Most positions involve work in environments (e.g., projects, labs, outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment is being installed, tested, analyzed, monitored, or operated and / or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy and or have exposed moving components.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which requires following basic safety precautions.

Integrated Safety Management:

  • Know and follow environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) policies and procedures that apply to their job assignments.
  • Become knowledgeable of and maintain awareness of the ES&H hazards associated with their work.
  • Perform work safely in accordance with hazard controls.
  • Report all unsafe operations, and, if necessary, exercise stop-work authority in cases of imminent danger.
  • Work only on those tasks in which they have the required competence, training, skills, and abilities to prevent injury to ones-self, other employees, the public, or the environment.
  • Must wear proper PPE as required and ensure PPE is in acceptable condition.
  • Maintain active involvement in the introduction, revision, and/or promotion of ES&H/ISM program activities.

Hours of Work

Typical shift is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. afternoon schedule (1:00 p.m. 9:30 p.m.) and must be able to occasionally work after hours on nights, holidays, and weekends. Schedule is determined by the company and business needs.
