Sr. Oracle Database Analyst/Data Modeler

Overview

ILS Inc. is looking for an Application DBA/Data Modeler to support a federal project. The ideal candidate will be able to serve in a dual Application DBA/Data Modeler role, with experience in data mapping and analysis for development team. Candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills and have good multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing applications and platform and provide recommendations for system enhancements or upgrades to be following the architectural standards.
  • Design/create tables, views, SQL queries, store procedures, functions, complex PL/SQL packages for ETL jobs, reports and custom module development.
  • Use JavaScript validations to load valid data into database after logging appropriate error, warning and informational messages.
  • Supports application development teams in designing physical database, creating database objects, data copy or refresh procedures.
  • Design and develop security implementation, including user authorization and encryption strategy.
  • Provide data analysis and mapping support for the development team.
  • Review and refine existing data model to accommodate and extend for new requirements.
  • Prepare system documentation related to data model, database/table/view, and application use cases.
  • Plan, lead and executes data migration efforts on the project.
  • Produce deployment scripts to be used during staging or production deployment, coordinates database implementation and/or deployment with production DBA.
  • Troubleshoot application database issues and conduct or provide input on performance tuning.
  • Participate in daily scrums or standups with other team members to discuss project status and identify blockers. Update JIRA with status and effort.
  • Understand business requirements/processes and the interdependencies of interfacing systems.
  • Follow customer-defined development, testing, and deployment procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must have 10+ years of hands-on experience in an Oracle database 11g/12c/19c environment and demonstrated proficiency in using modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical skill to understand/explore surrounding information systems and application architecture standards to provide best solutions.
  • Strong data analysis, modeling and migration experience.
  • Ability to work closely with customers, developers, database administrators and infrastructure team; and ability to reliably estimate the time and effort required to complete a task.
  • Experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good experience with: RDBMS, Oracle, SQL / PLSQL, ETL, DB Administration, AWS.
  • Bachelor level degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related equivalent
