Director of Med Surg

Tallahassee, FL

Our client is a 230+ bed acute care facility serving the community for more than 60 years. This facility services a busy ER with more than 45,000 emergencies each year.

Job Summary:

As the Med Surg Director, you will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Assume responsibility for clinical and resource management of unit (24hrs/day).

Integrate the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions and mission.

Coordinate and integrate services within their department and with other departments.

Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support provision of patient care and services.

Oversee care of population served by providing support and expertise to staff.

Qualifications

Current Georgia RN licensure or able to obtain.

Bachelor's Degree or MSN preferred.

Three to five years clinical experience in area of supervision.

Appropriate interpersonal/communication skills.

Computer Skills.

BLS and ACLS – American Heart Association – required.

Other certifications based on clinical area supervised.
