The Behavioral Clinician will participate as a member of the Adult Services Clinical Team, writing Positive Behavior Support Plans; providing training in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and Safety-Care; providing on-site support, training, and modeling; participating in clinical meetings as needed; and completing treatment integrity checks. Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Practice, complete functional behavior assessments to guide the development of behavior management and skill acquisition strategies, to decrease challenging behaviors and increase opportunities for community access and independence. Develop Positive Behavior Support Plans, contracts, and skill acquisition plans for individuals served in group homes, AFC and shared living settings, and KDC’s day habilitation program. Work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Practice and Program Managers to ensure treatment integrity through the completion of observations, integrity checks, and diagnostic feedback. Provide training within adult services in areas including: Safety-Care, Positive Behavior Supports, and other specialty topics as requested. Enhance the implementation of behavioral supports through on-site modeling and observation. Participate on various committees as requested, such as the Orientation and Professional Development Committee, Human Rights Committee, and/or Risk Management Committee. Support the use of augmentative communication and functional skills through direct instruction and training for staff. Ensure that individuals are treated with respect and dignity always, and maintain confidentiality regarding their records and protected health information. Participate in professional development activities and trainings as necessary to enhance skills and maintain certifications. Maintain compliance with all Kennedy-Donovan Center policies and procedures, Department of Developmental Services regulations, and quality service standards. Perform other clinical duties as assigned. Required Skills: Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation; moderate to high travel required. Frequent movement within home and community settings, including but not limited to: bending, sitting, lifting, and carrying; operation of specialized and adaptive equipment. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively. Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications for First Aid, CPR, and Safety-Care. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field; license preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a clinical setting serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience with the development and implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans.
