Job Purpose

Lead and task the team that performs the seed mixing and order fulfillment of cover crop seed operations at the Iola, KS seed mixing and warehouse location. Assign tasks and act as the first level of problem solving for the team 0f 4-6 people. Optimize the seed order fulfillment process and seed mixing for the safety of employees, quality products delivered on time to the customers, while maximizing efficiency.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of the Cover Crop Seed mixing and order fulfillment process
  • Prioritize tasking and perform order management for mix floor people in order to maintain accuracy, efficiency and, maximize productivity
  • Operate MRP system and other operations data management systems Record all inventory data in the inventory management software
  • Lead and perform the inventory management procedures for Cover Crop Seed
  • Coach, Train, and Encourage mix floor personnel
  • Ensure compliance of all safety, health and other company policies and procedures
  • Operate forklifts as required to move product
  • Operate and troubleshoot all seed mixing equipment and systems as required
  • Manually fill, sew, and stack 50 lb bags of seed on pallets
  • Load and unload trucks/trailers using pallet jacks and or forklifts
  • Operate and troubleshoot Seed handling conveyors, augers, etc
  • Operate and troubleshoot other machinery such as skid steer, telehandler, and pallet wrapper as required
  • Ensure a clean work environment to include floors and all mix floor equipment is maintained
  • Assist onsite customers professionally and courteously as required
  • Effectively communicate with sales staff concerning order discrepancies and questions
  • Ability to fill in for the site manager if needed
  • Perform all other assigned duties as required
Working conditions

Some work will be in a warehouse in a non-climate controlled warehouse and outdoors in all weather conditions. Work will be done in a dusty environment at times

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen or authorized worker
  • 2 year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years experience in Managing People or equivalent work experience
  • Able to work with all levels of staff
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills
  • Self Starter who takes initiative
  • Ability to climb Ladders and Scaffolding
  • Able to Lift 50lbs
