Responsibilities Principals are experts in particular content areas and provide day-to-day leadership of complex client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process, teaming with Partners. They ensure on-time delivery that meets or exceeds agreed upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practice, their own expertise and the firm's technical competence. They be trusted advisors to senior clients, with the ability to guide and influence their thinking, and to be viewed as experts in particular content areas. Oliver Wyman Principals are seen as Partners of the future and, as such, are fully engaged in building business through identifying new and expanded opportunities; they create exciting and additive intellectual capital through thought leadership and are knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics. Principals develop others and build a strong personal brand both within and outside the firm. Managing the execution of individual project modules. This typically includes: Developing hypotheses Managing data collection Model creation and analyses Conducting primary and secondary research Creatively tackling information limitations Surfacing insights Supporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high-quality case execution. Owning and developing executive client relationships, presenting to a wide range of audiences, and working day-to-day with clients and other stakeholders. Managing and developing the capabilities of junior consulting staff. Experience Required Just as every client project is different, we recognize and value the diversity of backgrounds and skillsets for successful candidates. We are seeking high-caliber individuals who want to join our winning team. Preference will be given to candidates with: At least 8-10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or familiarity with one or more of the Insurance sectors of Life insurance, General Insurance, Health, Reinsurance, and Asset/investment management. Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program Thematic experience may include, for example: Strategy - portfolio and product, growth, distribution, internationalization, M&A Operations - claims, underwriting, technology, operating models, post-merger integration Financial effectiveness - risk, capital, asset valuation, models, regulation Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced and demanding environments Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings Willingness to travel Ability to take initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and put existing skills to good use Not just intelligence, but creativity too: ready to come up with novel ideas to solve our clients' biggest problems A willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our incredibly talented team What We Offer Growth culture: Extensive learning & development opportunities, annual performance review process & discretionary performance bonuses.
