Job Description:
We are currently seeking Distribution Engineers to join our dynamic team in Florida. The hired individuals will be integral in supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across the state. The work will include performing engineering calculations and design for replacing deteriorated cable, moving overhead lines to underground, reconductoring existing distribution lines, and replacing aging equipment. The job duties include conducting site visits, evaluating equipment loading, reviewing design manuals, specifying design requirements, preparing project and job packages, reviewing plans for proposed construction, and ensuring ISO compliance requirements.
Qualifications :
  • Engineering Degree
  • 1.5 years of Power Distribution experience
  • 3+ years of total engineering experience
  • Knowledge in structural analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, coordination of protective devices
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to conduct site visits and take field notes
  • Capability to evaluate loading of various equipment components
  • Skill to review and interpret design manuals
  • Aptitude to determine and specify design requirements
  • Competence in preparing projects and job packages
  • Proficiency in reviewing plans for proposed construction
  • Ability to develop solutions to existing conductor and structural clearance violations and issues
  • Efficiency in developing final design plan packages
  • Capability to ensure ISO compliance requirements
Work Environment:
The work is primarily performed at our Riverview office. After an individual is fully trained and proficient (roughly 6 months), there is a flexibility to transfer to the Clearwater office. We boast a 170 person power group in Florida, between Maitland and Tampa. The Tampa office is a brand-new 19,000 sqft space, equipped with a foosball table and shuffleboard. It's a vibrant environment, led by a positive leader and a fully engaged team. We also have a new office in Clearwater that offers relocation after the first six months.
