At Grand Strand Medical Center, our pharmacists are an integral part of the patients care team. We work directly with our providers and nurses in a decentralized model and are extremely active in monitoring, adjusting, and recommending pharmacologic therapies. As a Pharmacist at Grand Strand, you will feel valued and practice at the top of your license.

Job Requirements:

• B.S. or PharmD from and ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
• Residency experience preferred.

In this role you will:

• Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.
• Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection.
• Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
• Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.
• Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
• Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
• Effectively supervise pharmacy operation activities and provide support to the whole pharmacy team.
