Duties and Responsibilities

Loyola University Chicago

We are Chicago's Jesuit, Catholic university-a diverse community seeking God in all things and working to expand knowledge in the service of humanity through learning, justice, and faith. The Jesuit and Catholic heritage of Loyola University Chicago-established at its founding in 1870-has evolved into a unique culture and a home for all faiths as well as a living tradition renewed and refocused by generations of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

With more than 4,000 employees at four different campuses, Loyola University Chicago strives for a diverse work environment that values service excellence, stewardship, personal well-being, and professional development.

Loyola University Chicago supports its employees and retirees with a wide array of benefits centered around health and wellness, financial security, and work-life balance. These benefits are comprehensive, affordable, and competitive.

Loyola University Chicago offers tuition remission to full-time, benefits-eligible employees; qualified retirees; and/or their spouses, legally domiciled adults, and dependent children. The University offers an easy way to save for retirement through the Loyola University Chicago Defined Contribution Retirement Plan ( DCRP ), a 403(b) plan.

The University offers an Employee Assistance Program ( EAP ) to help find solutions to issues and difficulties of daily life, and to provide supportive materials designed to help you live a balanced lifestyle. This program is offered at no cost and is available to all employees and their families.

Forbes recognized Loyola as a Best Employer for Diversity and as a Best Employer for Women in 2022.

The Web Content Manager reports to University Marketing and Communication's Director of Digital Strategy and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the user experience on Loyola's Stritch School of Medicine websites, ensuring content aligns with user needs and school goals.

This role collaborates with the Digital design/development teams, Stritch Marketing Communications lead, and faculty and staff to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with overall brand and strategic messaging. The manager will analyze user behavior and feedback to inform content decisions, support editorial calendars, and oversee content audits for continuous improvement.

Key success measures include improved user engagement, alignment of web content with strategic objectives, enhanced website performance metrics, and effective content lifecycle management. This role requires experience in web content management, a strong understanding of user experience principles, and excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills. While content creation is not a responsibility within this role, the manager is expected to have a deep understanding of best practices in content strategy, a keen editor's eye, and strong writing skills.

Because this position is part of Loyola's University Marketing and Communication central digital team in support of the Stritch School of Medicine, the manager will spend at least one day per week at Loyola's Water Tower campus and at least two days per week at Loyola's Maywood campus. Hybrid work modality in addition to these in-person requirements is an option.
