Ensure nursing services are provided within the scope of practice of nursing personnel. Report, investigate, and take appropriate action with regard to medication administration practices and care concerns. Review relevant public health issues to integrate into practice, serves as a consultant and resource person regarding infection prevention issues for all facility personnel, collaborates with other healthcare professionals within and outside of the facility, and implements infection prevention education programs. Systematically collect and analyze healthcare-associated infection data using epidemiological principles and statistical methods to identify trends and risk factors. Report of HAI and quality data for the various facility, county, state, and federal reporting requirements. Incorporate the principles of fiscal responsibility into practice and promotes the standards of advanced professional practice. Education and Experience Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a State of Maine Nursing license Experience: Demonstrated knowledge and experience sufficient to perform all duties with excellence Skills and Abilities Knowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skills Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally Effective leadership skills and/or ability to invest in growing this skill Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Certificates and Licenses Possess a diploma, AS or BS degree in nursing. Must be currently registered/licensed in Maine. Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.
