Project Manager - (3266863) The Division of Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School is a clinical neuroscience division with focus on brain circuitry that integrates neuroscience research (basic, translational, and clinical), clinical care (e.g., Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Clinical Service), and education (e.g., clinical and research fellowships, graduate students). Receiving supervision from the division chief and program director, the project manager is responsible for overseeing all research operations, implementing strategic planning and research development, providing administrative support to principal investigators and study staff, and guiding quality improvement. The project manager will be responsible for starting and building project infrastructure, defining and monitoring metrics of research performance, including recruitment, data collection, and progress. The project manager will also be responsible for personnel planning and staffing of the laboratory, and supervision of clinical research coordinators. This position will utilize project management planning, tools, and communications to expand research operations and provide ongoing managerial support for research aspects of the neuropsychiatry and neuromodulation strategic initiative. This position will collaborate closely with and support the chief, program director, and administrative leaders in psychiatry. Principal duties and responsibilities include: Provides oversight and directs research operations of the laboratory. Develops and optimizes workflows and procedures to improve operational effectiveness. Supports initial startup of research projects, develops work plans (including timelines, benchmarks, and metric development), organizes teams, and monitors activities longitudinally. Designs and directs the implementation of short- and long-term plans to support existing and new research projects consistent with overall strategic initiatives of the division. Monitors, summarizes, and reports on progress of the research projects and status of activities. Ensures research and administrative support structure is conducive of optimal study conduct; implements systems and procedures that support ongoing research projects. Monitors study site performance for subject enrollment and data acquisition in accordance with various protocols and convey this information to the leadership on a regular basis. Supports staff to ensure research operational processes are in place in coordination with central offices (e.g., research compliance office); creates and maintains standard operating procedures and training manuals as needed; works with study staff to improve operations. Ensures safety and regulatory compliance; attends meetings with psychiatry leadership on policy and procedural updates; attends safety meetings; implements safety measures. Meets regularly with study staff (internal and external) to ensure that the studies are proceeding smoothly, and delegating tasks to study staff appropriately. Oversees regulatory processes, including high level coordination of protocols and consent form development and management to ensure coherence across projects. Assists with the planning, maintenance, and scheduling of equipment and office space. Assists with grant submissions and assures compliance with grant reporting requirements. Maintains and updates the Other Support Documents, Biosketches, and CVs of faculty. Assists with personnel hiring; supports integration and onboarding of newly hired personnel; conducts yearly reviews with supervised personnel; supervises clinical research coordinators and interns. Assists with planning of employee relations events and initiatives. Participates in special projects as assigned by the chief and program director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least three years of related experience. Strong project management skills; experience in healthcare operations preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Formal project management training preferred. REQUIED SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES: Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Strong skills with spreadsheets, project management tools, and databases. Thoroughly familiar with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Access. High performer with well-developed organizational, analytic and communication skills capable of working independently with minimal supervision and guidance. Pays close attention to detail and deadlines. Exceptional organizational skills and flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures. Ability to work and make decisions independently.
